China's coal transportation rose in October, which usually marks the beginning of winter high demand season, after two consecutive months of slides in Aug-Sept.
In October, the country's daily coal loading reached 51,314 vehicles, up 2,441 vehicles or 5 percent from a year ago.
In the month, coal shipment through railway, which usually accounts for 60 percent of the country's total coal transportation, reached 104.896 million tons, rising 5.382 million tons or 5.4 percent from the corresponding volume for 2006.
In Jan-Oct, the country's accumulative daily coal loading was 50,784 vehicles, 8.5 percent or 3,965 vehicles higher than that of the previous same period.
In the ten months, the country's railway system transported 1,015.519 million tons of coal to downstream market, an increase of 89.205 million tons or 9.6 percent on a year-on-year basis.
Despite the boosted coal shipment, this October marks the first month of the past 2007 that railway coal transportation increased at a rate less than 10 percent, largely because of the relatively large base volume in the previous same period.
