KOLKATA, May 3: Coal India will offer 15 million tons of coal to the market through e-auction in May and another 15 million tons in June. 10 million tons will be supplied in July, following which the situation would be reviewed.
Speaking at a Press meet here today, the Union minister of state for coal, Mr Santosh Bagrodia said that efforts will be to ensure ready availability of coal to all consumers. There would be no difference in pricing between large-scale and small-scale industries.
There would be special concessions for the North Eastern states. Assam and Nagaland have already nominated agents to whom coal would be supplied at notified prices.
The minister has proposed to liquidate CIL¡¯
s stocks of 47 million tons. Discussions are to be held with the railways and road transport to lift more quantity of coal.
"There would be zero tolerance as far as corruption is concerned¡±, he said, adding rehabilitation will be done in a more human way to ensure there was no loss to the people. Rehabilitation would be carried out with incentives, he added.
