BABCOCK & Brown Infrastructure has completed expansion of the Dalrymple Bay Coal Terminal (DBCT) near Mackay, Queensland.

The terminal is now the second biggest in the country and will export 85 million tonnes of coal each year, an increase of about 30 million tonnes from its original capacity.

Dalrymple Bay Coal Terminal says that the increased capacity has allowed three outloading conveyors to feed three shiploaders on four berths.

The chief executive of the terminal, Eric Kolatchew, says the five year project took longer than expected.
