Eskom officials are in a meeting deciding whether or not power cuts will go ahead as planned, the energy utility said today.

"The load shedding schedule is being discussed in a meeting that¡¯s currently on. As soon as they are done we will issue a statement to inform the public," said Nto Rikhotso of Eskom¡¯

s media desk.

Power cuts were expected today (Monday) following weekend newspaper reports that there would be load shedding - regardless of whether there was enough electricity or not.
