The first wind power project invested in Pakistan by Chinese enterprises will soon commence

Nanjing Sunec Wind Generator Equipment Factory and Pakistan Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) jointly invested US$97.65 mln in building a 50MW-wind power project in Gharo. Currently, the preparation work has been completed and construction will be officially commissioned in June. Through 3 years of wind testing and pre-feasibility study, the cooperative construction agreement was officially signed in Dec.2007. Consisting of 10 5MW-wind farms with a total of 90 600KW-wind power generators, and covering about 6.5 km2, the project is going to be completed and commissioned for operation in July 2009 as planned.
