Customers of Columbia Gas of Ohio faced lower heating bills for the winter of 2007-2008 compared to the previous year, according to a press release. Also, shut-off notices for the first quarter of 2008 were down 35 percent compared to the same quarter a year ago.
The average household gas bill fell $6.79 to $828.41 for the period from November through March. Additionally, the amount of delinquent funds owed to Columbia Gas by customers in 2008 is down 10 percent compared to the same time frame in 2007.
The Energy Information Administration said 2007 Ohio gas prices are tied for 25th nationally.
