Gas Natural (GAS.MC: Quote, Profile, Research) has not had talks with Iberdrola (IBE.MC: Quote, Profile, Research) about a merger, Chairman Salvador Gabarro said on Wednesday.

"Gas Natural has not spoken to Iberdrola on the subject of a merger. If Mr. Brufau (Repsol (REP.MC: Quote, Profile, Research) Chairman Antonio Brufau) and Mr. Galan (Iberdrola Chairman Ignacio Galan) have spoken about that, that's a matter for them," Gabarro said at an annual shareholder meeting.
