Petroliam Nasional Bhd., Malaysia's state oil company, doesn't have an ``immediate'' plan to renegotiate a liquefied natural gas contract with Shanghai LNG Co., the Edge reported, citing Chief Executive Officer Tan Sri Datuk Sri Mohd Hassan Marican.
Petronas will not follow Indonesia's move to renegotiate gas export contracts with customers in China and South Korea, the Malaysian business publication said. China agreed in January to pay 31 percent more for the fuel from Indonesia than contracted in 2006.
Malaysia LNG Tiga Sdn, a Petronas unit, agreed to supply as much as 3.03 million metric tons a year of the cleaner-burning fuel in July 2006 to Shanghai LNG for 25 years, the report said.
BP Plc may divert half of the 3.5 million metric tons a year from its Tangguh LNG project earmarked for Sempra Energy in Mexico to buyers willing to pay more, Energy Minister Purnomo Yusgiantoro said in May 2007.
