China's First-Half Crude Output Rises 1.7%, Coal Increases 15%

China's crude oil production increased 1.7 percent in the first six months of this year to meet domestic demand.

Crude output rose to 94.33 million tons, the National Bureau of Statistics said in an e-mailed statement today. Coal production increased by about 15 percent to 1.26 billion tons and electricity output gained about 13 percent to 1.68 trillion kilowatt-hours, it said.
