India's production of crude oil declined 4.6 percent in June.
Companies, including Oil & Natural Gas Corp., the biggest explorer in India, pumped 2.65 million metric tons of oil last month compared with 2.77 million tons a year earlier, the Oil Ministry said in a statement in New Delhi today.
Output at Oil & Natural Gas's Mumbai High fields declined 0.8 percent to 1.46 million tons last month. The fields, 100 miles (160 kilometers) northwest of Mumbai in the Arabian Sea, account for more than half of India's annual oil production.
Crude oil production by non-state-owned explorers, including Cairn Energy Plc, fell 39 percent to 256,000 tons in June, according to the ministry.
India's natural gas output rose 1.9 percent to 2.63 billion cubic meters last month, it said.
