China Shenhua Energy Co Ltd, the country's top coal producer, churned out 14.8 million tonnes of coal in February, or 26.5 percent more than a year earlier, and increased sales by 26.0 percent on strong demand to fuel China's galloping economic growth.
But the firm exported only 1.6 million tonnes of coal last month, down 11.1 percent from the same month a year ago.
It said on Tuesday that coal sales came to 18.9 million tonnes in February against 15.0 million tonnes in the same month last year.
