German day-ahead power prices rebounded Thursday with demand set to return to normal following the Ascension day holiday, although a drop in solar power output and reduced plant availability saw Germany at a higher premium to French spot prices, a trader said.

Baseload power for delivery on Friday was last heard OTC before noon London time at Eur29.50/MWh, up Eur9.25 on the day and unchanged from the previous working-day-ahead level. Day-ahead peakload power was last heard OTC at Eur32.50/MWh, up Eur12.50 on the day and Eur2 above Wednesday's price.

Epex Spot settled Friday again above OTC levels at Eur31.58/MWh for base and Eur34.89/MWh for peakload.

Wind power generation is forecast to recover to around 5 GW for average baseload hours on Friday, according to a source.
